SPEAKING
I speak on five subjects. I do not read papers, I do not use forty slides, and I would rather take questions than give a lecture.

Audiences have included Rotary conventions and institutes, universities, business forums and church gatherings. Fees, where they apply to engagements outside Rotary, are directed to The Rotary Foundation.
BRING A PROJECT
Rotary is very good at three things: raising money carefully, building things properly, and staying long after the ribbon has been cut. If you have an idea in health, peace, water, education, economic development or the environment, and you want a partner with that record, write to us.
Tell us what problem you are solving, who will operate the result, and what you are bringing. We will tell you honestly whether Rotary is the right partner, and if we are not, we will usually know who is.

Emmanuel Katongole is Director of Rotary International for Zone 22, Africa, 2026–2028. Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Cipla Quality Chemical Industries, he chairs the Uganda Revenue Authority Board and is Chancellor of Nkumba University. He founded the Rotary Blood Bank at Mengo Hospital and serves the Rotary Peace Centre at Makerere.

Somebody did this for me.
A stranger asked me a question at fourteen and it changed the direction of my life. I cannot do that at scale, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. But I do a small number of things each year, properly rather than widely.
If you are a young Ugandan entrepreneur, a Rotaractor with a project, or a student who wants to talk about a path, write. Be specific: tell me what you are trying to do and what is in your way. Not every letter can be answered, but every letter is read.
